Scar Camouflage | Permanent Makeup

Do you wish your scar would disappear? Let us color it in for you! Our permenant cosmetic specialist using micropigmentation will blend pigment into your scar tissue using your skin color as camouflage.

Permanent cosmetics is a form of tattooing where pigment is implanted into the skin for a natural makeup look. Permanent cosmetics has been around for over 20 years. Imagine make-up that won’t come off while jogging, swimming, or exercising. It offers beauty and freedom for those with an active lifestyle.

Permanent cosmetics involves the application of pigment into the superficial skin layer of the
eyebrows, eyelids, and lips. Recovery time is minimal and the improvement in color results in a
natural and more youthful appearance. The initial treatment provides most of the desired
color with a second treatment scheduled in one to two months later to evenly blend in the color.

Indications and Treatment:

  • Scar tissue
  • Skin discoloration

Post Care:

  • You may experience redness, swelling, and/or bruising immediately following your procedure. This should subside within 24-48 hours. Bruising can be intensified by certain medications.
  • Apply a lubricating product (vitamin E) to the pigmented area 1-2 times per day for 5-7 days. Increase the application of moisture as needed if the area becomes uncomfortable or itchy. Keeping the area moist can aid in color retention.
  • Keep the area clean. Shower as usual. Gently cleanse the area with a mild soap, unless otherwise directed.
  • Expect flaking of the skin – with flaking of the pigment as well. This is completely normal and part of the healing process. Color and overall appearance will soften with time. It may take several days for the flaking to subside.
  • Avoid rubbing, picking, or scratching following your procedure. Do not pull or pick off flaking skin.
  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, chlorinated pools, hot tubs, and lakes for 4-6 weeks post treatment. Even after healed, repeated or prolonged exposure to sun or chemicals will cause fading.
  • Avoid the use of exfoliating/lightening products near the pigmented area as it can cause colors to fade more quickly.
  • Although rare, infection is a risk associated with this procedure. If an infection is suspected and the pigmented area becomes more painful, and/or you develop a fever soon after your procedure, please call our office at: (517) 267-2497
