Halo™ by Sciton

The HALO Laser is the world’s first and only hybrid fractional laser, and one of the most sought out services at MSU ALTC. MSU ALTC is recognized as one of the most experienced HALO users in the Greater Lansing area, with multiple recognition awards by SCITON, an established leader in energy-based medical aesthetics, as we perform hundreds of HALO treatments per year.

Patients across the globe have coined the phrase “HALO glow” to describe their flawless complexion after treatment—and it’s one reason why HALO continues to be one of MSU ALTC’s most popular services to date. Known as the “Holy Grail” of skin treatments, it addresses vascular lesions, pigmentation, and textural issues all in a single modality. Our signature HALO treatment combines BBL® HERO™ immediately prior to your HALO for an even more dramatic result for treating aging, fine lines, enlarged pores, melasma, skin texture, skin tone, and wrinkles.

Due to its fractionated nature, most patients require one to two HALO treatments to achieve their goals (depending on intensity). Then, practitioners can help maintain their client’s results with a HALO or MOXI™ maintenance treatment once or twice per year as needed.

The Halo Laser Process

How Does the Halo Laser Work?

The Halo Laser combines the benefits of non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to deliver precise results with a much easier and quicker healing experience than other resurfacing lasers on the market. The dual wavelengths unique to the HALO laser allow us to completely customize each treatment. Halo gives you the results you want without the downtime you expect.

Simultaneously delivering a non-ablative 1470 nm and an ablative 2940 nm wavelength to the same microscopic treatment zone, HALO delivers an unmatched improvement in the appearance of aging skin. Its powerful technology delivers consistent and precise results every time. Ablative wavelengths target and treat the skin for surface-level conditions such as textural issues and pore size. The non-ablative wavelength targets deeper sun damage and other dermal pigmentary issues. Together, these wavelengths provide both short-term and long-term benefits to a wide variety of clients. By creating small thermal injuries in the skin, new, healthy skin is produced in a short amount of time.

Recovery time is about 5-7 days of minimal downtime. The healing process may include mild to moderate swelling, redness, darkening, and textural changes throughout the first week post-treatment.

01: Prior to the Treatment

Before you receive a HALO laser procedure, your medical aesthetician will need to consult with you prior to scheduling your appointment. VISIA imaging photos will be taken during your consultation to best customize your treatment plan.

02: Prepare the Skin

One hour prior to treatment, a topical numbing cream will be applied to your skin. The numbing will be completely removed before starting your procedure.

03: Further Safety Preparation

A headband is placed on the client to provide a clearer working surface. Additionally, protective eyewear will be provided to the client to be worn during the entire treatment.

04: Determine Treatment Settings

Based on your VISIA imaging results and personal goals, we will set your treatment parameters on the HALO machine to deliver the correct energy for your best results.

05: Post-Treatment

Immediately following your HALO laser treatment, cool compresses using Avene cooling spray are applied directly to the treated area to reduce heat. It is encouraged to continue using your cooling spray included in your take home kit for the next 2-4 hours following your procedure.

06: Home Post-Care
