How does Broad Band Light work?
BBL utilizes the power of pulsed light to deliver excellent cosmetic results. Your provider will choose the proper wavelengths of light, which target problem areas of your skin such as sun-damage, red vessels, acne, enlarged pores, etc. Light is safely delivered through a cooled sapphire crystal.
01: Prior to Treatment
In most cases, your medical aesthetician will need to consult with you prior to scheduling your appointment. VISIA imaging photos will be taken during your consultation to best customize your treatment plan.
02: Prepare the Skin
Before the treatment begins, the treatment zone will be cleansed, and a clear ultrasound gel is applied. In some cases, numbing may be applied 30 minutes prior to your procedure before entering the treatment room. This will be determined at your consultation.
03: Further Safety Preparation
A headband is placed on the client to provide a clearer working surface. Additionally, protective eyewear will be provided to the client to be worn during the entire treatment.
04: Deliver the Light
Light is delivered to the skin's surface in precise pulses across the treatment area. The light will appear bright even while wearing protective eyewear. Your procedure may take a few minutes to an hour depending on the size of the treatment area.
05: Apply Gel
After treatment is complete, the skin will be cleansed and a medical-grade vitamin c, plus hydrating creams with sunblock, will be applied.
06: Post Treatment
The treatment area may appear red or flushed, which usually fades within a few hours. Individuals with prominent pigmentation may notice that brown areas become temporarily darker for 5-7 days. Gentle products may be provided for home use, however, for most BBL treatments there is virtually no post care needed.

- It is important that you wear a physical barrier (sunscreen, clothing) and limit your sun exposure after treatment. Your provider will advise you on a personalized post-treatment regimen.
